Garden Towers is addressing the growing need for accessible and affordable seniors housing in New York City. Foxy Management, a Bronx-based developer, teamed with JLD Advisory and nonprofit partner and service provider HANAC to create the 150-unit development for low-income seniors 62 and older. In addition, 45 units are set aside for formerly homeless seniors.
Developed by Impact Development Group, the story of the newly revamped Paradise Gardens III—an affordable housing development in Paradise, California—is one of turning trials into triumph. Over the course of several years, the revitalization of the 48-unit senior community weathered transactional issues, funding hiccups, and, most prominently, almost total physical decimation in the massive 2018 Camp Fire.
Low- and middle-income workers power the resort community of Big Sky, Montana, but there’s few affordable housing options for them in town. Developed by BlueLine, the new Riverview Apartments helps fill that need by providing apartments for residents earning 30% to 80% of the area median income. The 25-unit development features six one- 12 two-, and seven three-bedroom homes to serve families.
ShoreLINE Apartments provides families with affordable housing and access to public transit. Developed by Affirmed Housing, in partnership with the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS), the new 126-unit development is next to the Grantville Trolley Station. ShoreLINE is part of a broader initiative aimed at transforming park-and-ride sites into vibrant transit-oriented developments, and it’s the first of three Affirmed Housing projects being built in partnership with MTS.
